I don’t often wear lipstick, and when I do it tends to be bright pillarbox reds. Which is why Little Sis gave me such a funny look when I picked up a different colour. I was intrigued, if I’m honest, by the packaging at first. The Poppy King for No7 range is a selection of lipsticks, lip crayons and lip glosses in 7 different colours, and the packaging (pictured above) of cute polkadots instantly caught my eye.
I picked up number 3 – “Glamour” – a candy pink with reddish undertones. The Aussie lipstick guru really knows her stuff, and this colour is perfect for the transition from Spring/Summer to Autumn/Winter and back again. The colour isn’t too intense with a lovely gloss. It does need a few layers to build up, and will need topping up throughout the day, but the girly pink makes me feel like a princess! It doesn’t dry out your lips either, which is a relief. I tend to wear it when I’m wearing tea dresses or cute floral tops, but add some dark eyeliner and a biker jacket, it could easily be a feminine touch to a masculine outfit.
