Now Prada has partnered with Italian publishing house Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Editore to launch an international literary contest to seek out new talent.
It has been inspired by the unison of metaphorical prescription glasses – “a tool through which to see and investigate new creative worlds, and enhance the individual interpretation of reality” – and the designer label’s “curiosity to explore innovative languages by means of forms of expression leading to the written word”.
The competition is open from now and closes on the 18th June, with the winner being announced on 31st December this year. The prize includes €5,000 (£4,280), and their essay will be published as a digital book available on the Prada website.
Entrants should go to prada.com/journal and submit essays around the subject of:
What are the realities that our eyes give back to us? And how are these realities filtered through lenses?
Terms and conditions include: one submission per person, applicants must be 18 years or older.
