PFW: Issey Miyake

0Issey Miyake is always a joy to behold, and this AW’13 collection at Paris Fashion Week was no exception – so much so that the models even had big grins on!

Pieces of Note:
It was an adventure in three key trends – checks, stripes and fuzzy fur. The checks came in narrow checkerboard or wide squares of colour overlaying one another, and the stripes and pleats ran up and down the length of androgynous pieces, or broke over the squares of colour. Coats with big lapels, and trouser suits with big pockets and wide ankles. Palazzo pants (single-tone panels with great splits to reveal striped trousers beneath) and maxi skirts added volume to an otherwise trim collection.
Style: Prim hems, but great fun in the colour – use checks and pleats with enthusiasm, and layer fuzzy coats over the top.
