PFW: Nina Ricci

0From the dance floor to the real world to the opera, Nina Ricci took us through a whirlwind collection, along to live music from two pianos.

Pieces of Note:
Playing on the idea of a dancer’s wardrobe, there were bustiers and bunched-bust details on dresses and cardigans, accentuated bra straps and slash-necked skirt suits. Then there were parkas – updated and made suitable for the opera – and knitted leotards and bagged arms (as if dressing for rehearsals).
Style: Pretty, ladylike, demure and dainty are all words to describe the Nina Ricci AW’13 collection. There was the added comfort and ease of movement (again, inspired by dancers) in knitted panels too. Another monochromatic palette, injected with red, navy and grey, for a sophisticated feel.
