“Because it’s 25 years, people think you should reference what you’ve done before but we didn’t want to look back,” Antoni told Vogue. In fact, the pair locked themselves away for four days, creating as much art as they could manage – and completely ignoring their previous few collections.
The result was a riot of colour and playfulness striding down the catwalk. The silk shifts were bold colours, blended with creative flairs such as crayon scribble and illustrated flowers. Embellishment and glitter blended with tuxedo jackets, and dresses with slits or fluted sleeves.
“In a year of British celebration, it was an apt way to begin,” said Emma Elwick-Bates from Vogue. Indeed, indeed!
