Fashion’s Night Out

Fashion’s Night Out has become one of the key dates in any fashionable person’s diary. This year, FNO in London went mad! Here are a few highlights from FNO 2012…

Mulberry and Vogue editor Alexandra Schulman kicked off the proceedings with a party at the label’s store on Bond Street, featuring stars such as Manolo Blahnik, Christopher Kane, Daisy Lowe, Matthew Williamson and Erdem, supping on oysters and champagne.

Need your Chanel beauty fix fast? Well at FNO, you could, with vending machines dispensing lipsticks and nail polishes. In conjunction with the new pop-up store in Covent Garden, these brightly-hued vending machines were manned by hidden people, popping your goodies in to bags. (Get your free Chanel fix until the 17th September by jumping in to one of their cabs!)

Missoni was definitely a favourite for the fashionable foodies (food included popcorn at Daks, a pop-up Hotel Chocolat stall, J Sheekey fish and chips and plenty of cupcakes), who provided ice cream for all visitors. Not only that, but the beautiful limited edition rings in coloured caoutchouc that were being sold, were made by women in Mali. Exclusive to FNO, the proceeds will go to EDODE, a not-for-profit organisation aiming to improve the quality of life in developing African countries by widening wells, and creating forages and barrages to guarantee water supply to isolated villages.

Charlotte Olympia
Giveaways were the watchword of the night, and exclusive treats and limited edition goodies were flooding out the doors. Charlotte Olympia’s FNO donation was to collaborate with Olympia Le-Tan to create a book-clutch and Miracle Dolly shoes, inspired by E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web.

Jonathan Saunders
Jonathan Saunders designed this year’s Fashion’s Night Out official T-shirt – and you could have picked yours up on the night from several retailers for just £18. But you would have had to move pretty fast, as the T-shirts sold out!

Rossano Feretti
Amongst the myriad of beauty treatments going on, one of the best (for £120 it certainly should be) was the Veuve Cliquot hair treatment and blow dry at Rossano Feretti. Apparently the treatment gives you shiny, silky and healthy hair… and you got a free glass of bubbly while you were there.

The Duffle Customisation Kit – with strap, hang-tag and tassel – at Coach was a hit (go to LibertyLondonGirl to read more). For £320, and in four colours – cobalt, sunflower, emerald and fuchsia – these new bags are must-have arm candy.

Christian Louboutin
Now, we all know about my love affair with Christian Louboutin. So imagine my excitement at the prospect of his launch of the Highness Dragon Tattoo shoe, the Henri Dragon Tattoo shoe (for men), AND the Dragon Tattoo iPad case all at FNO! Inspired by the dragon designs from Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, these designs are being sold from an eye-watering £1,095.
