There’s been a spate of designer swapping of late – with Stefano Pilati ducking out from Yves Saint Laurent and Raf Simons heading to Dior, the upheaval has been exciting and astounding in equal measure.
And now, if you hadn’t heard, there’s a new departure that’s been announced. After just under a year at the helm of Pringle of Scotland, Alistair Carr has confirmed he is stepping down as design director.
CEO, Jean Fang, told WWD:
“I want to thank Alistair for all his great efforts and contributions at Pringle. We will miss him, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
Although his next move is yet to be announced, Carr will still art direct Pringle’s AW’12 campaign and his own SS’13 menswear collection will be shown in mid-June. Pringle has confirmed that their future endeavours will be created by the in-house team.
What do you think of Alistair Carr’s departure?
