Sofia Coppola and Marni for H&M

Remember the exciting announcement that Marni are doing a highstreet collection for H&M? Well, the next exciting bit of news about Marni for H&M is who is directing the advert! Director and fashion muse Sofia Coppola filmed the campaign in Marrakech last October, and the film will go out to cinemas and televisions in line with the launch of the designs on 8th March this year.

“I enjoyed doing this film for the Marni at H&M collaboration. I think it’s great how they make fashion accessible and I wanted to show the fantasy fashion can bring. Consuelo [Castiglioni, Marni founder and creative director] seems really sincere and cares about what she does and I appreciated that.”

The director of Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette is no stranger to directing designer campaigns – she has previously shot advertising campaigns for Miss Dior Chérie perfume and was the face of Marc Jacobs perfume. She has also collaborated with brands including Louis Vuitton.
